my first recreation commissions (4-month waiting list) are the b/w cover and interior page, where the subsequent colored pages are the actual published comics�

#pdx-area based #chriskohler is an incredible recreation artist, from neal adams, jack davis, frazetta to barry windsor smith he has recreated many; his repeat clients, many of whom own ionic original art by industry luminaries, reach out to him for recreations;

this legendary #batman # 244 from 1972 by penciler #nealadams, inker #dickgiordano and writer #dennisoneil takes me back to my early days of collecting, where i would take the bus to winnipeg lcs hunting for books such as this one to add to my collection;
.
the panel page 15 is as surreal as it gets for a then innocent me seeing a shirtless hero express his love; that just didn�t happen back in the days of comics; and chris recreated both pages to perfection;
.
sadly chris� commission list is closed until early 2022; and if both these actual, non-recreation pages are ever in auction today�they would hit low seven figures usd

A favorite Neal Adams page of many, it has action and romance all done in that special flair only he could deliver. He was mile ahead of the game. This captures that very excitement every time a Neal Adams book hit the stands.
