DescriptionAn absolutely gorgeously hand-painted page by the brilliant Jim Baikie! Tons of great Judge Dredd images, from action shots to some great humour as ol' Stone-Face resists the charm of the cute little baby he's just rescued from certain death! This is iconic Dredd to me - and would you just look at that epic Dredd jawline! Everything a dyed-in-the-wool fan of home-grown British comic book legends could want! Social/Sharing |

Thanks, Duke! I agree, the line work rocks - very appropriately craggy style, accentuated by Baikie's spray of colour which makes everything look so tough and solid. Dredd really looks like he's made of rock! And such dynamic design - Baikie is an underrated master!

Thanks Dude! Well, clearly he'd pick him up to play some sick Mega-City One game of Catch with! 😁 Got to love his stone-cold passive face though...Daddy Dredd! And the incidental detail of holding the kid's dollie is priceless!

The chin! Great Dredd grimace. Baikie does a fantastic job of the explosive background chaos to Dredd's diving rescue. Nice page!

I agree with absolutely every word you said, Paul - which is why I simply had to have this beaut! It's pure Mega-City Madness, and I love it! 😁😁😁

Oh, the jaw line sold this to me alright, Dave! Pure unplugged Dredd - worthy of his best illustrators in my opinion! And yes, it's going straight into a frame in pride of place in my office :)

"Gotcha nose!" "Hands off perp. Load: Incendiary Round..." I really liked Bailkie's work, and his run on Dredd. He drew great Dredd crossovers, too. And I so dug the bright color scheme they used on Dredd. It felt like a nice, and purposeful, counterpoint to the dark tone of the stories. Nice score. Congrats!

Thanks for stopping by and showing the love, J H - I'm big time into these bright, pop-art colours too, and Jim's chunky, craggy, dynamic style - perfectly suited to Dredd. And I also think that some of the best Dredd or MegaCity stories are the ones which lace their action with humour. I consider myself lucky to have picked up some solid examples of Baikie's skill!
