DescriptionMister Miracle, the modern mini series by Tom King and Mitch Gerads is my favorite modern comic tale. Ive written on other pieces more about why. I was only vaguely familiar with Jack Kirby's Fourth World and its denizens prior; but the story hit me right at my center. The relationship and marriage between Scott Free and Barda felt so real. This piece was really my first "big" art purchase, as I had limited myself before to quick con sketches or remarks in the past, but when Mitch opened his list for the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con I jumped in, with butterflies in my belly. The entirety of the series was done digitally, save for Nick Derington's incredible covers, so this was my chance to get something with some DNA from the series creators. Picking up this sketch blew me away. The pose, strength and beauty of Barda all on display, with the touches that are absolutely Mitch. Since getting this piece, Barda has sort of become my sketch commission focus as I love seeing others take on the incredible Kirby design. It took awhile to get this onto CAF as it has been hanging on the wall since the show, but I recently cracked open the frame to get a proper picture and wanted to share here. Social/Sharing |

Incredibly delightful to have physical art by him that looks just as wonderful if not more than his digital creations.

Thanks Marcus. I love how even his digital work he seems to bring in little touches that feel organic. But nothing beats the physical thing. You can see and feel the layers on this piece. Finger prints in the whiteout. I love it.
