Mine eyes have seen the glory. And what a veiny glory it is!

A triumph of the human spirit with the apex of human anatomy that is very eloquently and majestically presented.  It has the full support of nature itself to split open the skies so the gods may peer through and bear witness to Thor as a glorious specimen.  Tanned to a golden god hue that can barely be contained by the hammock made of the very threads that were woven from the shorned, flying winged ram named Crius Chrysomallos.  Who was the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea, and Theophane, the daughter of Bisaltes, a son of Helios and Gaia.  The very same material that made the golden fleece that Jason and his Argonauts were to retrieve.  Or this could have been off the rack at Old Navy or the Marshalls.    

Marcus, this maybe your best comment ever.

It was inevitable.... Heritage couldn't stop it... The Hildebtandts could not stop it... Mankini Thor is in his rightful home! Congrats Rob! 

Tears streak my face as I utter incoherent prayers and stumble to my knees.  The labac idol has returned to his rightful home.  The night and day and midsummer nights, dawn and dusk, the orbit of planets and ice cream after buffet, all are ours.

It's glorious! So much so that I must avert my eyes! That lightening! Those muscles! The background buildings! Swoon!!!!

This would be the perfect piece of oa...if he only had even the tiniestttt gap. But look at those meaty thighs pressed together. They could flatten a piece of rolled art. No daylight. No gap. Scissors would solve this problem. 

But the splash between the knee gap is epic!

How did I live without this piece in my eyes? The pinnacle of your collection, so great it's glory can barely be comprehended by us mere mortals. The best CAF write-up I've seen in ages.

I've been so emotional over this one, took me several days to put a comment on.  Thor mankini was an emotional rollercoaster full of ups and downs. As they say, it's darkest before the light and Rob's persistence, only something someone in OA would understand paid off.

I have tears of joy on my keyboard as I write this.

The concept of fractional ownership was created for epic works of art like this and I'm thrilled to have an opportunity to own even a fraction of this glorious image.

Look at how the rock not only hides Thor's tiny Liefield-esque feet, but provides the golden backdrop of ocean spray that perfectly frames the scene

It makes me weep that Jack Kirby never got to see this.

What is the setting for this piece, does anyone know? Is that a bay view that could be replicated (in loving tribute) for photographs at some convention gathering in San Diego, or San Francisco, or Charlotte?

If there ever was a holy grail in the comic art hobby, this is THE piece to fit that description. Just look at the glowing, golden sheen. History was made the day the hammer fell on this auction. We all stand in its splendid glory. 'Nuff said!

Completely redefines the term "Hammer Time"

I love that whenever I feel blue, I can keep coming back to this page to help me to feel better.  

In the early minutes of Saturday it is both hard to believe it has almost been a week, and yet time has also flown by during the many hours the Mankini Thunder has distracted me from this Star Wars holiday week. I await the updates to come, the royal framing, the tales of travel. Sleep is no longer possible, my mind is racing, yet I dream...

Still swooning! Sigh!

I have planned a pilgrimage to visit the temple of mankini Thor in central Charlotte. I shall pay homage and respects in person this June. 🍺 🧎‍♂️ 🥃

Right when I saw this I thought of the song:

Substitute Flash with Thor and it would be perfect,  Rarely has a piece truly exhibited what is possible in the medium, pushing to the very limits of artistic GLORY!  

I came back to see if it's still amazing. And it is.
