Thanks to Buscema's artwork, This gang of toughs each have a personality of their own and have the timeless look to them as Batman does.

Another great looking page, John. While it's odd to see Buscema doing DC work, his draftsmanship was so good that it's just as much of a joy to see. Interestingly, the looseness of the line art in panel 3 makes the Batman figure appear almost as if Joe Kubert drew it, which I really love!

Thanks Ruben.  When I first saw these pages, I thought, how rough the overall look of the art was.  It was just too scratchy and raw.  Then, the more I looked at the characters, the more I looked at the environment and context of what was happening, I then saw the genius that Buscema had in this.  Despite what looks like hastily drawn imagery, there is intense care and mastery in each of the characters' faces, expressions and actions.  The roughness of some inking was for a purpose because not all the inking is rough.  When I compared this art to older Buscema pieces, I realized those older pieces were not all John.  This story is ALL John and he kept from over-inking the pencils because there was a purpose for such fine lines and roughness to the story.  The more I study each page, the more I see.  I am still finding new things about each one.  That is true talent!!!!!!
