Description

Back in the day a friend of mine always found the issue of West Coast Avengers issue where it showed Fury smoked while showering hilarious. Between this page being part of the Over the Edge storyline (I actually stopped buying Marvel until they brought Nick back), and a rare shot of him losing his stogie. I had to buy it.

This is great in showing that The Punisher can still shock Nick Fury. Wagner and Reinhold have that gritty street level art and the chain link fence panel is fully imagined and realized for stogie dropping impact.

I actually had to think about it a bit before you responded. You’re quite right about the Punisher hitting a weakness of Nick’s. His family has always been portrayed as a weak point of his, from the Sgt. Fury storyline where he went back to visit his family to when his first son has been the target of an attack. Heck, I’d go so far as to point to the Howlers being his extended family post-war, given some of the things he got involved with helping them. I know after his death in Over The Edge Peter David made a point of him having a life only connected to superheroes, but also addressed his forgotten sister.

And now I’m rambling. My apologies.
