DescriptionJoe truly is one of the Silver Age greats and is still doing awesome work to this day at 93 years of age. He is the oldest living Batman artist i believe. I was offered the opportunity to have this done by Joe's rep and my pal Jeff Harnett and who am i to turn down a request from Jeff? Joe was the inker on Green Lantern 1 and Jeff and I both felt Joe could and would do an excellent job on this famous cover and he did- the colors (watercolor) really pop! Thanks, Joe and Jeff! Very, very glad to have this. Do yourself a favor and contact Jeff about getting a Joe Giella originalSocial/Sharing |

Looks wonderful that it retains that look of the silver age. Any modern artist would try to make the anatomy look smooth and sleek. The Green Lantern not showing the front of the costume was daring for a number one issue. Giella's version is top notch and is as close as you can get.

An amazing recreation by a living legend ... and that maniacal grimace looks all the more menacing here!
