I admit, I am one to judge a book by it's cover. I bought "The Legend of Nightfall" because of the cover. Jody Lee rocks! So when the IX Gallery had a Jody Lee's art show. I snapped up this cover to the sequel that I didn't know existed. Just ordered the book on Audible and I am ready to have a good listen.

Oils, graphite, copper enamel on board, 1/04, 24 x 22 inches, signed middle below gargoyles.

For the novel by Mickey Zucker Reichert. I love the character of Nightfall. I wish she had done a whole series on him, but this is the only sequel so far. The first novel was really funny, as if Don Quixote had a dangerous assassin for his Sancho Panza. Alan Rickman was my model for Nightfall’s look. The sequel mirrors the first book’s double knives design. There’s a pattern of a fist holding a hammer on the white dagger that I think was the coat of arms for his idealistic master Prince Ned.

Perfect for a cover that works for a book which is different than for a comic. There are more static images with perfect precision and sharp focus that is meant to stand the test of time.

Handsome illustration with a stately composition! Love the contrast between the two swords. I also love the figure of Nightfall poised on the gargoyle, ready to continue scaling the building. Just a great cover bound to draw readers in.
