Description

Here's another piece that I initially missed out on that came back around and I was able to acquire it. Finding great Ramona pieces by O'Malley is challenging, finding them on 11x17 size board is even more challenging, and getting it at a somewhat affordable cost ... well, definitely difficult. While this is the unused cover, I still coveted this piece because it was Ramona-centric and the published cover has a similar looking Ramona and Scott. I will also admit that it was much easier to afford this piece versus the published version, but I don't view this one as a downgrade from my personal aesthetic viewpoint. In a way I prefer this version of Ramona versus what was published; I feel this version has the shy, "are you looking at me" vibe to it with the smile and hair being pulled back versus the published version has a surprised, "gasp" look to her face. I adjusted the contrast on the scan to show that Scott is blue penciled in on this piece, the original scan is in the additional images and you'll see the blue doesn't show up as well; I also added Felix's original scan which is kind of the in between of my scans as a reference too.

Gorgeous O'Malley line woith the glamor pose! With an animated look, each detail is well considered to include or leave out. The band aid, the star in her hair, and the eyelash work is phenomenal.
