DescriptionNot everyone is going to get to enjoy the unpublished pages from the original JLA/Avengers crossover. These are published in the newly released softcover which has a very limited print run. I was very lucky to get this page, featuring the Avengers and a captured Kang, one of my favorite villians. This was a fanboy dream that turned into heartache when Marvel and DC decided not to move forward with the project back in the 1980s. I am not sure who inked the bottom part of this page.Social/Sharing |

Legendary work that is famed for not being used! The backstory of these pages and why they weren't used and why the crossover didn't happen is just as fascinating.

Andrew - this is stunning. Seriously, it feels like a relic (in the best possible sense). I'm blown away. So glad you have this and really appreciate you sharing it.

Its so nice to see Perez pencils. The inking does not look like Perez did it. Wonder who did?

That bottom panel is sweet!!! So good! Doesn't look like too many will get to enjoy this despite it finally being printed with the low print run of the volume. If that new volume was readily available I'd have bought something 'new' comic-wise and I haven't done that in over a decade. Thanks for sharing this with the community.

Gosh, I remember reading through the famed issue of Comics Interview with George (which I still have) and staring at each unfinished page in amazement, but as angry as he was in that interrview that these pages would never be published. You are so fortunate to have this! Congrats!

You are right about me being fortunate. I grew up in that era when Perez started on Avengers then moved to DC to do JLA and Teen Titans. The prospect of the Avengers JLA crossover had me and probably every other fanboy on the edge of my seat... the cancellation was heartbreaking. Seeing this piece come up at auction was a dream come true and I couldnt resist. Last year my heart was broken again when we lost George...
