I can give you a list of maybe a dozen comic books that were so huge to me when they came out that I can remember every detail of the buying experience. Silver Surfer #50 was one of the last times that happened. I remember the time of day I bought it (around 1:00 - I was off from school that day), the weather (sunny but unseasonably cool), who I was with, flipping through it while on line to pay, the sign at the register saying it was limited one per customer (the store owners underestimated the demand), showing my family the silver cover thinking it would somehow impress them the way it impressed me, and so on. That's my long-winded way of saying congrats on getting such an amazing piece! It's a wondrous thing to see!

Great story of how you obtained the piece! Reminds me of mine when i got my OCA Holy Grail. Although in my case no planes just a long trip in my car.

Dude ! A couple things... 1) so bleeping happy you got this the second I saw if I knew it belonged with you 2) holy hell what a trip and story to get it, I know all the gory details and you left out some of the other bumps and bruises 3) it is an absolutely amazing piece of art in its own right but this dps and issue really is the "birth" of the infinity gauntlet story line. 4) I LOVE ART THAT GETS FOUND anyone can mortgage the house at auction finding negotiating and securing art from none art collectors is the best!
