Spider Series: Spider-Girl - Tom Reilly

Tom has been doing a really great series of “warm up” sketches of various Spider-Man costumes & characters that he has been posting to his social media accounts. The series has truly been amazing, no pun intended. Each character is traditionally drawn and then set against the same digitally created skyline, but colored differently. Tom just seems to nail these energetic poses and each one has such different energy yet all scream Spider-Man. I hope someone at Marvel is paying attention, this dude needs to be on a Spider-Man book!

When this one got posted, it was another “yup, gonna try for that one too.” This was another look straight out of my era, even though Mayday Parker showed up right at the end of my “sweet spot” era, the costume was of course shared from Ben Reilly’s time as Spider-Man. I was excited at the time to see this great design get reused. Tom drew these all on 3” tall pieces of trimmed comic board in varying lengths.
