The Mukai signed & dated 1989 original is a beautiful image of Mukai's muse Caren Peterson. Caren is known as the model for some of Mukai’s most coveted serigraphs “Karen,” “Blue Eyes” and the rare “Special Friend" to name a few. You will also (if you’re lucky enough to ever find one) recognize her on the extremely rare Cintra Panels Peterson I, Peterson II, and Peterson III.

The drawing is approximately 18.25" x 23.75." Upon its purchase, I was told it was titled "Tropical Shade" and it has the title on the back with the DM- inventory number used by Mirage Editions, Inc at the time. It has a nice full background with palm trees. 🏝

Nagel is booming and the trend into the 90s has me taking so many inquiries on Mukai now. Get one while you can. Very hard to find and this is a PLAYBOY. Mukai and Nagel were good friends and contemporaries. Mukai was asked by Hefner to take over Nagel's Advisor spot after his death. So much rich history here and they shared the same publisher.
