Description

Back in the 1990's, when comic book speculation
was running rampant (ah, the circle of life), there
was WIZARD magazine. In it's heyday, WIZARD offered
its very own collectibles: #1/2 issues--and #500 and
#0 issues, if memory serves--for some of the "hottest"
issues of that time. Malibu Comics' Ultraverse was
quite the thing at the time, so it wasn't a surprise
when WIZARD came out with "Prime 1/2."

I was a fan of the Ultraverse. Rather, I was a fan of
Terry Dotson's Mantra and Norm Breyfogle's Prime. There
were other artists who drew the characters, but I liked
these guys best. I purchased this title splash directly�
from the very nice Mr. Breyfogle.
�
"Prime #1/2" came out in 1994. Since I hadn't read the
issue, I was curious to see what a copy would cost me�
today. About five bucks. Most #1/2 issues go for about�
the same.�
�
So much for collectability.

Excellent piece of Prime art. I'm a huge fan of Breyfogle's work on this series Thanks for sharing.

Great piece having Prime narcissistically look at himself in his mirror. If a kid turns into a superhero with muscles upon muscles, you can expect the cocky attitude. It all gets played out through Breyfogle's artwork.

I too was a fan of the Ultraverse and Prime was certainly their top book. Great over the top splash by Breyfogle at height of his game.
