Description

Richard Powers wrap around cover art for the novel Phthor by Piers Anthony, 1975
Incredibly vivid colors in this surreal landscape by Powers in this excellent example of his 70’s style.

Powers wrap around covers are a bit scarce since he often cut and sold the front cover portion and then proceeded to chop up the back cover portion to use as collage elements in other works!

This already has that collage look with how sharp the rays form that net on the foreign body. Stunning play on the lighting and backdrop with soft glow and cascading all blended with a fine touch.
