Description

Steven Cummings is an American artist living
in Japan, and was the perfect collaborator for
"Wayward", the Image series set in Japan. Not
only because the series was set in his adopted
country, but because Cummings art fit so perfectly
with the story being told.

For a long time, I couldn't find any of Cummings'
original art from the book. When he finally made it
available, I was delighted to buy this page. This is the
final page of issue #6, introducing the Jorōgumo: the
Spider Whore. She�s a demon (a yōkai), a spider creature
who will take the form of a beautiful woman in order to
seduce others. If her victim should happen to see her in
a mirror, though, they�d see her actual spider form.

In �Wayward�, the Jorōgumo was one of the comic�s
Longest-running and deadliest villains. She�s one of the
Bad guys in the board game, too. But doesn�t she look sweet?

Pretty piece !!! I'm sure that Disney / Marvel won't be introducing a character with that name any time soon.

She is beautiful enough that a victim may never notice the telltale hanging spiders. Congrats.
