Description

Issue # 12 cover from the 2018 series. Tells you everything you need to know about this last issue in the series. The full team in hero poses and in the background you can see a statue of Hitler being pulled down.

The techniques used on this cover really make it shine! The layout, including the perspective as if we were witness to this thrilling victory, combined with the depiction of the swirling smoke and flames moves our eye around the image so that we can soak up every last drop of comic art goodness. Great use of solids and the cross hatching on the downed giant robot differentiates the texture. White out, used to show dropping ash, is not only applied with the flicking of the brush but also in purposefully placed shapes which add dimension to the piece.

I have quite a few pieces of art by Eddy Barrows and all the pages where he teams up with Eber Ferreira are the best.

I absolutely agree, Lee. Most of the time I prefer the artist's own, pure vision. But in some cases, as with Barrows, artists sometimes simply haven't had much inking practice and their own inks are inferior to those of whoever their best inker may be. In this case, Eber Ferreira is definitely THE man!

These inks are just fantastically applied with a cross between illustration and grand comics tradition.
