Magnificent Lightle page. His art became even more refined after he left the Legion. Beautiful page. 

Knew nothing of this comic or Steve's work on it.  What a revelation!  Great, great, page!  Love the full figure, of course.  But the panel work is excellent also.  Going to have to find these books online and check them out.  Thanks for the tip buddy!

I've never read much Red Sonja but this is an exquisite page. The printing in the publication a clear fail in replicating the quality of this art. 

Yeah, the company that put out this issue was very small and didn't last long.  From what I can see, their total output was 8 books in two years.  I believe that the second issue of this series was solicited but never published.  I don't think the company was equipped to give this book the publication quality that it deserved.

If Quincy Jones had been the producer for Cross Plains Comics, it would still be well-remembered today (barring any Neverland Ranch-type scandals).

Pages like this are always a feast for my eyes. That full figure statuesque portrait is a real beauty!

That left side is to die for!

Before there were a million publishers, it was exciting to find small imprints like this one doing something different than the Big Two but in a high quality way--though frustrating sometimes in that they might release an issue or two and then disappear.  Cross Plains did some fun REH stuff--but this single issue was definitely the highlight; has to be the most beautiful work that Lightle created!

Absolutely incredible page, Michael - BEAUTIFUL use of black and white in this dynamic, dynamite composition.

And Marcus, this had me howling.  I absolutely lost my mind.  This one is the Steve Lightle of your always epic, mind-blowing lyric "relaunches". :)  ("Lyrics Return"?  "Lyrics Reborn"?)

That is one long :ahem: backscratcher Sonja carries. And that is how I begin to rewrite the origin of her name in my head. Great page. I can't believe collectors played hot potato with this one. 

So cool that you got a page from this issue. I never could score any over the years as the seller(s) always refused to sell abroad.

The work that Lightle did for Cross Plains was just incredible as this page shows.

Holy crap, this is a page I also admired for many years. The difference is that although I love Lightle and Red Sonja, it just wasn't what I collected in those days, so as much as I was attracted to it, I always let it pass me buy. Great to see it in your collection though, Michael, it's a real beauty!

Would love to see this in person just to witness up close them rich inks!  Really like that first splashy shot, followed by some sweet storytelling.  Congrats!
