Thanks to Bill Cox and the Comic Art Live Team for an excellent initiative with the $150 Mystery Artist sketch series. I was fortunate enough to snag a spot, and over time I didn't have any clue about which artist I had been paired with, partly because I may have forgotten what I asked for.

Then the excellent Tatiana of TDArt sent me an email that I had something on the way, and let drop that Mike McKone may be involved. WELL! Color me delighted, as Mike is an artist whose work I have been noticing more and more.

Delightful color indeed, upon opening this well wrapped and protected parcel. An absolute stunner. I'm going to scan it again and try to really capture the lovely, delicate wash that he has applied here - this image is absolute garbage.

Great looking image of Bowie which someone could also be induced to believe was Morpheus...? It does double duty in your collection!

If all bland sketch opportunities turned out like this one, it would be an everyday occurrence. And frankly, from what I have seen of the sketches done from that drop all were outstanding. Congrats!

Beautiful work by McKone. It's a safe bet that if Bill arranges for a similar sketch opportunity in the future, it will sell out in seconds given the pieces like this that came out of the last one.
