I love it too! Congrats!!!
Great cover, you beat me to it. Congrats!!!
Congrats on a huge milestone!!
What a fabulous piece! Deodato is a master and his work on Thunderbolts was delightful!
Go big for 500! Nice cover and a crazy milestone!
Only 500? Hurry up and post 1000 Paul.. 😜 Big fan of Deodato and this cover is excellent. Especially love the rendering and way he shows lighting. Thunderbolts is one of those titles Mike is famous for and this is a good example of why. Congrats!!
I believe I hear a barbarian jesting. Not jousting. Thats for classier warriors.
A powerhouse cover to present in your 500th! It brings all those perennial bad guys to the T-Bolts with no intent on redemption! Deodato is killing it on all that overpowered musculature and exaggerated bad attitude.
Congrats on 500! Can't wait to see the next 500 you post from your warehouse of art! But seriously, this cover is AMAZING 😁
Congrats on 500, and what a way to celebrate!
Deodato at his finest! Killer double cover, Paul
500 is proof of a very bad addiction. Lol. Even worse, thats just covers. No one has the space to frame and hang up that many. You need help. You are not alone. Many on the site do. Comic Art Fans Anonymous. CAFA. Has a certain ring to it. Bill Cox can set up the site. I will sign up. Will you? Lol.
Definitely sign me up, lol! Yeah, CAFA is not bad. Better than Comic Art Collectors Anonymous (CACA). Hahaha! Thanks for the funny comment.
I love Deodato's work! He always makes scary characters like Venom look even scarier, and cool but kinda goofy characters like Green Goblin look positively terrifying! So many great characters to look at here, too! But I'm surprised you didn't address the art being cut in half. Is this made up of two 11 x 17 boards, or one larger board cut in half, etc? Do tell! Oh, and huge congrats on your 500th cover post, an amazing accomplishment within one of CAF's great collections!
Thank you for the great comment, Ruben! Yeah, these are two full-size 11x17 boards. But instead of doing a wraparound cover for the published comic, they put ther whole image on the front page. I'll add that to the description now.
Congrats on 500 posts! And how rare to get a vertical double page for a cover, from Deodato of all people?!? Very cool piece!
What a sweet cast of baddies!!!! Fitting for a 500th post. Congrats Paul
Congratulations Mentor! 500? I still remember your 300, which was insane at the time. I can't wait to see your 1000 lol! Knowing you, it'll be sooner than later :) Badass Cover!
500?!?!?! WOOT!! Congrats, Paul. :) And you did it in style, too. That's one massive(ly sweet) cover! I love the detail, and the posing. I think my favorite part is Bullseye holding the cards with Deodato's signature, though. How clever. Huge congrats on the great page and the milestone!
A trip this was done in pencil! That's some mighty dark graphite or Mike was pressing down pretty hard on the point of that pencil :) As per usual with Mike, loving all the shadow work, and the sheer amount of characters he got to render on! Congrats!
500 posts!! Good gravy - that's absolutely FANTASTIC, Paul! And considering the caliber of the artwork you post (as well as the great energy both you and your posts spread to every collector who sees them) that is a VERY significant milstone indeed!
And Deodato's Thunderbolts?!? Oh, man, Paul - in my mind you could not be cooler. :) Warren Ellis's T-Bolts and Nextwave runs had me cemented me to my seat back in the day. T-Bolts was the title where Mike's work REALLY landed for me, and I loved it, loved it, loved it. I was overcome by the perfect marriage of the story and art of this series, and how Mike and Warren took the original series premise and twisted it a bit to make it resonate and hum in an even darker and more compelling way. I'm going to have to make time for a re-read, thanks to your post! :)
Sorry I'm so late to the party here, P P, but most sincere congrats on an EPIC 500th post - BEAUTIFUL! I think it is obvious how excited we all are for the next 500! Godspeed, sir! :)
