Description

In 1955, Detective Comics #215 introduced The Batmen of
All Nations, an international group of heroes who were
inspired by Batman. They formed a team--The Club of Heroes--
to fight crime. Batman came to their first meeting, things
didn't quite go as hoped, and that was the last that fans
saw of these guys... until Grant Morrison came along.

In 2008, Grant Morrison reintroduced the Club of Heroes in
Batman #667. Once again, Batman joined the team and, again,
things didn't go as planned. One by one, the international
heroes began to get picked off by an unknown killer. The Black
Glove was at work.

J.H. Williams III used different artistic styles for the
various heroes on these pages. As I understand it, he did
this because he felt if these heroes were popular in their
own country, they'd each have a comic book featuring them--
and drawn by an artist other than J3. So, he tried to mimic
a different artist for each of them. He carried this through
the The Black Glove storyline because he thought it was fun.
You gotta love the guy, you know?

This page features the first appearance of Raven Red and the
Dark Ranger. I've included page six from the issue in the
"additional art" section, just in case you'd like to see the
other members of the Club.
