DescriptionPurchased at HeroesCon directly from Mark Deering, who inked this over gray lines from Joe Bennett. It's signed "Joe Bennett/Mark Deering after Kirby & Colletta" though I'm not sure which battle inspired this.Lucky to have discovered this while looking through his portfolio. Really like the action, perspective and detail. The back shows Mark's first attempt when apparently he wasn't happy with the progress and started over. I don't know if this was a commission piece or not (forgot to ask Mark) so I'm listing it as a pin up, unless someone can tell me otherwise. Size: 12" x 18" Social/Sharing |

This was inspired by a issue of Thor from 1966, which had Goldilock squaring off against Hercules.

Thanks, Chris. It's discovering gems like this at comparatively low-cost that make this hobby so much fun!

Man, this is a stunning piece. Takes one hell of an inler to do full justice to Joe Bennett's incredible pencils, and Deering has done it. Classic!
