Love and Rockets #27 Story p. 06

Glad you got this page. That last panel is among my favorites from the magazine-era of Love and Rockets. Poor Pepper!

The first 3 panels are awesome.  It is someone who's deep in thought going through a checklist in their mind and not being distracted by anyone.  The action panels with the onomatopoeia and stars brings cartooning and high impact together.  Hernandez shows ring command and storytelling in this match by how he depicts the performers within the ring.

Really nice page, and that last panel! Congrats Jason!

A well-observed naturalistic progression of jump cuts guides the eye downward to a different panel structure befitting the new tempo of the slapstick comedy scene. Jaime is flexing his skills!

I'm  sure i'll be called a philistine for saying this, but I dont know really anything about L&R... but I very much love this page! The acting / storytelling on display is fantastic!

You nailed it in your description, Jason: perfection.  Those first three panels are weighted in focus and silence, in the light of a quiet locker room / dressing room.  Our eyes traveling down to the second tier or panels here adds velocity to Pepper's impact (as they - our eyes - follow the same path as the slope of Pepper's back), where everything explodes into the sound, fury, and darkness of a packed wrestling arena.  Vicki is a beast uncaged, lightyears away from the top tier of panels (and the end of this story is such a great moment between Maggie and Vicki).  Absolutely sensational, Jason.  Yet ANOTHER epic add!  Congrats on building such a fine L&R collection!
