This page is from the first appearance of Red Wolf, a character introduced at a time when Roy Thomas was exploring social justice themes in the Avengers. This is part of his origin sequence. Red Wolf is forced to slay Lobo's mother who was defending her cub.

Are you sure Lobo's mother wasn't upset with Red Wolf because he was wearing Lobo's father on his head?
