A washed up Wrestler named King Crusher blindly trusts his manager, Eddie Slick, and ends up ingesting pills that turn him into a frightening, kaiju-sized, monster!

Firestorm uses an atomic blast to zap the power lines behind the Crusher-Kaiju to momentarily distract him while he trans mutates the wreckage of a crushed house into a giant-sized syringe. He tells the slime-ball manager that he gives him the creeps (as he bops him in the face).

This page is from the first Firestorm comic book I purchased from a Thrifty's Spinner Rack. It's certainly not the most renowned era of the title, but I have a sweet-spot for this particular issue because it was my first. Mainly, I recognized a character I loved from the Legendary Super Powers show/Galactic Guardians cartoon and tried out the comic version.

Ironically, this tale of 'body-horror' didn't lead to me becoming a regular reader. I think I was a little freaked out by what happened to poor Crusher. (The antedote DOES work, but it was a pretty horrific two issues for ol' Crusher there...)

Anyway, I read other Firestorm back issues later on and when I was a bit older started collecting the book a little after the Invasion crossover during what is known as the 'Elemental' era of Firestorm.

Very happy to have a hero-page at the finale of the issue!
