DescriptionOccasionally, a one-shot or miniseries breaks out and shines, and 'Basketful of Heads' is one such standout. It has often been compared to EC Horror comics for its captivating, shocking visuals. While modern audiences may be less affected by violent imagery, this blend of horror, crime, dark fantasy, and comedy is remarkably effective. The key difference here is Joe Hill's writing. Despite a familiar plotline, Joe adds depth to the characters, making us care about them while keeping the story engaging.I was pleasantly surprised to find this page still available. Leomacs ingeniously flips the scene to show the perspective of losing your head, an innovative technique that plays out over a two-page sequence. This moment reveals the Axe of Yggdrasil's true impact for the first time. It's one of the few titles where the best pages are the talking heads pages ;) Social/Sharing |
