Description
Spider-Boy by Derec Donovan

Spider-Boy is a member of the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099, from Amalgam Comics. I love both issues of Spider-Boy, but the Spider-Boy Team-Up issue is of course my favorite because of all of the Legion stuff. He's a fun character with a fantastic design, and I hope that somehow we see him again someday. Derec delivered an almost creepy-looking Spider-Boy here, which reminds me of how Steve Ditko's Spider-Man could look weirdly scary at times. I love the big eyes, the shadows, and the cityscape. Thanks again, Derec!

Of all the variants appearing in the Spider-verse movies, this may be the only one off limits!  Donovan has Spider-Boy looking more mature and he sticks out amongts all the straight lines of the cityscape.  Especially cool is the hand held webshooter that shoots webs out like party streamers.

That's a fun one. Amalgam was the textbook definition of comics fun.

I'd love to see more Amalgam books.  I doubt that's ever going to happen, but pieces like this keep the spirit of those stories alive.
