If you're a fan of Superman, I think that you probably love images of the character as he flies around with Lois in his arms. I mean, how can't you? Like you, I also fondly remember this splash page and thought it was instantly classic as soon as I first laid eyes on it while reading the issue. Congrats on getting this one, man, she's a beauty!
A lot of folks are gonna comment on how awesome Superman looks (and rightfully so), but I think the way Grummett captures the emotion and detail in Lois's face is pretty spectacular!
An absolutely thrilling Grummett, Paul, and I'm completely with Simon here! When I first saw the piece, I had to catch my breath (and not just in a "Ooh, I hope Rubén can forgive him for nabbing this one" way... 😜 ). A -perfect- splash page. But when I really started to examine the details of the piece closely (the great POV, the lovely winter farm below, the powerful central figure of Superman) it was Lois's direct eyeline to the viewer that really put the piece over the top. A great way to connect with the reader in an unobtrusive breaking of the fourth wall. Sensational piece, Paul! Congrats!

I mean, just a quintessential Supes and Lois shot. And I couldn't help but thing of Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder right when I saw it :) Nice flow of the cape, and cool that they're amongst the clouds! Congrats, Paul!

Been thinking of what to write for a few days now and I still dont know what I can say to capture how amazing this piece is. But at least the 90s Superman fanboys can understand how it feels seeing this classic example of Grummett/Hazelwoods run...
