DescriptionThe demonic Randall Flagg reminds his betrothed not to do that one thing with Harold. The Stand: No Man’s Land # 2, page 13 (2011).I like a few things about this page. The alternating black-white-black of the first two and a half panels flows well until you hit Flagg – and it’s a hard stop, with the jarring horizontal and vertical lines. A nice technique to visualize what’s happening to Nadine in the narrative. Also, Nadine’s experiencing several different emotions as she recalls what happened and you can see the slight difference in feeling on her face in each of the panels. Social/Sharing |

This is comic art to be judged on a whole other scale as there are no fights nor tights. It's psychological and visually atmospheric. The adaptation of this Stephen King novel requires deep understanding of the story and the lore of King's books as Flagg appears in subsequent works.

Stunning page by Mike Perkins! Love the atmospheric tension on the page. The rich, lush blacks broken up only by the slats of the Venisian blinds...And the dark ominous figure of Randall Flagg. Phenomenal pencils and inks by Perkins!
