The timeliest of art updates! The 16th president not only abolished slavery and hunted vampires; he was also too "honest" to remain a lawyer. A true American hero.
Yeah, never trust a lawyer. I know of what I speak since I'm a lawyer. 🙃
Happy President's Day! Fun character art.
Abe says that Kull is Eternal
We won't find out presidential
Well, I don't know if Carfax true
Cause Pizzari and mattress, I got too
Abe
I got you Abe
I got you Abe
They say the vamps won't be honest
Before it's earned, the Gettysburg Address
I guess that's so, they don't have a plot
But at least I'm sure of all the Whigs support
Abe
I got you Abe
I got you Abe
I got lawyers in the spring
I got to let freedom ring
And when the vamps, come to town
And if I get scared, he don’t F around
Don't let them say rebellion
'Cause I don't care, the Union can't go wrong
Then put your Abraham in time
There ain't no Bill and Ted that we can't find
Abe
I got you Abe
I got you Abe
I got artwork in my hand
I got through to comic fans
I was born in Kentucky
I abolished Slavery
I got you to do what’s right
I got you to vote in twice
I got Booth, don’t go to show
Alarm clocks to tell me so
I got you Abe
I'm still sad that Lincoln & Cher eventually broke up. They made a cute couple, and the post-breakup "Wilkes Booth & Cher Variety Hour" was a train wreck.
In the immortal words of Abe Lincoln, "Party On Dudes!"
The rendering of the fabrics is fantastic, thanks to an excellent inking technique. Powerful image(s) for an eye-catching cover!
This should be the new image on the $5 bill ;)
Hahaha, that's a funny joke about the car dealerships. Also a really great cover. Lincoln has a look like, "Geez, it's one thing after another with me ... what will I have to face next?? Well, bring it on, I'm ready." Cuz he always was ready. Look at that steely gaze. Great addition!
And that boys and girls was how President Lincoln was assasinated. Any questions?
Love the look of the whole piece, but especially love that top panel. Congrats!
Really effective cover. Must've been 30+ years since I've read anything Kull-related but this makes me want to check this out.
Definitely a timely post with this piece, Michael. I really like the composition and the Abe figure, but I have to say it's the werewolf with the musket that I may actually like best, with a cool bit of dry brush in there!
Fun stuff, especially that top panel :)
Man, that's awesome! I really got a piece by Luca...I'm more and more impressed with what I see. I love that multiple image cover layout...we used to see that back in the day more often and it provides a nice throwback feel while still also feeling fresh. And Lincoln being shadowed in with the dark grey...adds a sweet contrast to what's around him. Congrats!
A very fitting post on the perfect day
