Great looking splash !! Al Plastino doesn't get enough credit for being as good as he was.

I love the smooth, clean lines. Plastino's Superman work is and has always been underrated.

This is such a timeless Superman piece yet one that also perfectly reflects the era. Simply beautiful.

While I could understand how some among the younger generation of collectors might see this art as quite dated, I look at this and see something that might have actually been considered “flashy” for its time. The detail and mechanics of the robot, the careful placement of the shadows (even reaching to the policeman’s leg), the motion and impact lines. So much consideration went into this drawing. And it’s impossible not to appreciate Al’s simple yet clean, clear, and confident lines. In an era of artists who sometimes don’t bother with details, effects, or even backgrounds, this is a wonderful example of craft in the art form.

We tried and we tried, but it's Super
Guess he didn't fit the Image Comics line
Now you tell me to find a robot Luthor
Oh, but baby, then you get Plastino find
Don't tell me what’s Boo Boo
They already said he smashed through
In a page that you have turned
It’s no longer cops concern
So, don't tell me what’s boo boo
I'll love Supes forever if I want to

A prize goof? Looks like the Joker has some competition for the Boner of the Year award!

Such a classic looking splash from an era when comics were for kids and teens. A real fun top tier Supes splash.

I was six months old when this comic came out. I'll never forget this splash page. It was what drove me to collect! #facetiousness
Seriously, this is a perfect example of silver age DC. Al Plastino was a master.

Gorgeous. Thanx for sharring. Al was one of the most underappreciated comic artist ever. What a talent.
