The dark and stormy night opening works so much better visually than in literature.  Great emotive face.  You can really feel the passion Newton and Adkins put into the purity of this facial expression.

So good !  It's not easy to do a really good close up in comics.  Don Newton definitely made it look easy.  The colorist also did a good job with some subtle colors.  I would love to have seen Newton's pencils for this.

Don Newton was an incredible talent.  Small body of work, but all memorable.  Congrats!

Such an intense closeup! Newton and Adkins made for a really strong artistic combination and I especially love the addition of the hand drawn lettering right next to his face. I'm really dying to see the line art without all the pixelation, though. You're killing me, Smalls!

This is one sensational page. The teeth-gritting emotion and jaw-clenching power is palpable. Speaking as a Don Newton fan who followed him from his early work at DC I always hoped to see on CAF what i considered his standout page (embellished by his most complementary inker – “Dapper” Dan Adkins) so thank you for posting. It’s a terrific pick-up.
