Description
20”x32” (21”x33”) Painted in 1979; purchased in 2012. Formerly of the estate of Charles Martignette, published as the cover for the scarce (and collectible) paperback original Looking for Ginger North by mystery writer John Dunning (Gold Medal PBO,1980), which was nominated for an Edgar Award (Best Paperback Original) by the Mystery Writers of America in 1981.

Handsome late 70's male perm hairstyle and all denim wear.  Lots of stars of the day rocked that look as a sign of machismo while staying pretty and hip as a counter to the flashy and flamboyant disco alternative.  No wonder the lady is all over him.  You'd never figure the book was set around a horse racetrack.
