Description

This is the final page from the Liberty Girl Story, "Last Gas for the Fatherland" from Anthem #3 written and drawn by Billy Tucci. In it, a last-ditch Nazi apparently hijacks a fighter bomber and manages to drop some bombs on Times Square as Liberty Girl knocks out his plane. She grabs the last bomb just as it is about to fall on the most iconic image of the celebration of the war's end.

The published image has a full background of Times Square, the crowd and the Empire State Building. Presumably, this was a separate drawing that was integrated into this one electronically.

This story line included everything Billy is good at... Hot chick + WWII airplanes + patriotic themes. Great pick up.
