Description

Wak! Fireman Donald goes through his usual tantrum-like poses in this series of four model sheet drawings by Disney Legend and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men," Eric Larson (1905 - 1988). These are superb studies of one of Disney's all-time most popular animated characters, who at one time surpassed Mickey Mouse as the studio's most visible cartoon star. The art is in graphite on a sheet of 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Approximate image sizes are (clockwise left to right) 4" x 3.25"; 4.5" x 3.5"; 4.5" x 3.5"; and 4.25" x 2.5". You can compare this model sheet with Fred Spencer's in his gallery as they both animated scenes from this cartoon. The main difference seems to be the eyes but with the printing probably done by the same hand.

The character Disney created because everyone had become bored with Mickey's new-found goodness. What a great set of drawings.
