Description

A great page from Matt Wagner's Mage: The Hero Discovered #3, page 11. This one has all three of the main characters: Kevin, Mirth, and Edsel, and that last panel is worth the price of admission with Kevin breaking the 4th wall to look at the reader like "huh?!".

The grey-line consists of an acetate overlay of the pencil and ink page and a separate board containing a grey-line reproduction of the original page; Matt Wagner hand-colored the grey-line himself using watercolors and has signed the piece. The original grey-line is done on a board that measures approx. 7 1/2" x 10 1/4" with an image area that is approx. that of the published comic book.

I've included an additional pic of the hand-colored artwork as well to show off the detailed work. As I examined the paint, it looks like Matt used a different, bolder colored paint for these earlier issues (#1 and #3). Update: Matt in the recent CAF interview said it was a different paper that made these colors look different.
