Doc Savage vs. King Kong

George is perhaps best known for a series of pulp and comic pastiches he did involving anthropomorphic animals, but he's a fine painter. This is a personal piece he did that he brought to Pulpcon in 1993 in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Doc Savage pulp magazine, where I was lucky enough to win it. Doc, of course, is piloting the plane, while one of his aides, Renny Renwick, is at the machinegun. Somehow I don't think poor Kong has a chance...
