Congrats on the expedient execution of your plan!
OMG! This is so fricking cool. Like you, I never even heard of this book or knew of its existence. Love this page and absolutely LOVE this band. The early albums were great. So much fun, raw, energy with songs like “He’s a Whore”, “Hot Love”, “Hello There”, and “Clock Strikes Ten”, from those first two classic albums. And really hitting their stride with the “Heaven Tonight” and “Dream Police” albums. Not to mention that the Budokan album is probably one of my favorite live albums ever. When you think about how long bands like the Stones and Aerosmith have been around, this band doesn’t get nearly enough recognition. Thanks for posting this and for giving this great band some props.
It's the page of the world...
Remember you were in school with the beepers and phones.
I remember, didn't think it existed but the comic promoted in style.
I've seen Busted from June Brigman, to amaze all the world.
Inks say Cabrera, and the world keeps rockin' 'round.
Remember, I knew art’ll be good for you.
Ken’s a better manager, really meant what I said, gotta be a driver right now.
I've seen Brigman, artwork pencilin', it's the way of the world.
You say Cabrera, but the world keeps music ‘round.
World goes round, life goes on, and on, and on.
You say it's over, but Cheap Trick keeps tourin' round.
It's the way of the world.
Rick Nielsen couldn't have written it better!
Marvel deserves serious props for having done this.
Goose! Goose! Oh, no!
Love the "big eyes" in panel 3 ;)
Awesome band. Awesome page!
Yeah man, great band, great page by a couple of great artists. Congrats on finding the page you wanted so quickly after first discovering the book. So cool when that can work out so nicely.
I never heard about this one. My wife and I, saw them live in 2009 as a opener for Def Leppard and Poison. This was one of Bun E. Carlo's last gigs behind the drums until his son took over.
Nothing can be cooler than mixing comics and rock'roll !!
This is so cool. Absolutely love Cheap Trick. Introduced to them by my older brother and his yellow vinyl copy of Budokan.
Well how cool is that page? I love everything I am seeing. That top panel should have been replicated in so many more comics. Full Band panels rocking out are the best.
Such a great pick-up! I'm a fan as well and I especially enjoy that top panel with the band in action.
This is so awesome!!! And I agree with you about "Surrender", one of my fav songs ever
