Description
A nice Spidey by Dan Brereton.
He said he was inspired by some Moebius merchandising art from the 90s.
I might have found what he was talking about (see additional images).

Painted on a 12"x16" art board.

I like that he keeps the comic aspects of the costume with the web lines instead of trying to make them photgraphically realistic like other painters.  Great deep and darker palette used to make Spidey more mysterious with the bright glow of white eyes around the shadowed face.

Very cool. I think he was referring to the artist named Moebius (Jean Giraud). He did a a number of pieces for Marvel in the 90's (Spider-Man, Punisher, Iron Man, a few others). The Spider-Man one has him sitting on the destroyed edge of a strange pillar. The other Moebius is the name of a model company.

Although, I guess it is possible he meant the model company.

Nice...than Damn Gargoyle is saying "Why TF do the guys keep hanging out on me?" That's a nice piece by Dan, and totally agree with the toughness of rendering Spidey.
