Description

I acquired this page during Comic Art Live November 2023 from a fellow collector.

Love the feel of this page - it was never inked and colored directly from the pencils, giving the flashback an ethereal/ghostly quality (appropriate for Gentleman Ghost!) in the published art. I have a real soft spot for Gentleman Jim Craddock and that last panel with him on a spectral steed facing off against a great rendition of Hawkman made me fall in love with it (that panel could have been a great splash page).

I generally confine myself to Hawkman art that is clearly intended to be Katar Hol (rather than Carter Hall), but this is one of those few exceptions I couldn't pass it.

The pencils are so tight when I first unwrapped it I thought that they MUST be printed from digital inks, but they clearly are not on close examination. Really beautiful work by Luke Ross.

Rare page dedicated to Gentleman Ghost! Great that it's It's handled with this pure light Luke Ross pencil for that ethereal feel.
