Description

As per Wikipedia, Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol (1962) was the first animated Christmas special created for TV.

The original production is more of a "play within a play". Mr Magoo is a near-sighted stage actor. And that somehow is incorporated into his characterization of Scrooge. My memory of when I first watched it on TV, it was edited so that it appeared to be a straightforward telling of the original story.

After the delivery of the prize turkey, Scrooge visits the Cratchit family.

The actual "play within a play" version is on the DVD.

A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens.

Mr. Magoo was created by Millard Kaufman and John Hubley.

Mr. Magoo (of course) was voiced by Jim Backus .
