The way Mike drew her eyes open really showcases her power in the moment.  I can see why this splash is so mesmersizing.  Congrats on adding this wonderful page to you spectacular collection.

I'm liking Mike's approach to the Surfer's reflections!

I mean, yup!  One of the headlining pages from the run, due to the key moment but also purely because of the image itself.  Hopeful, sublime, some of Allred's best.  Congrats, Fisch!

As splashes go from the run, it's alright I suppose...

If only you had the Surfer, Tony Orlando and Dawn splash -- I'm looking for that one -- congrats on this beauty though.

Mike Allred has such a distinctive and pleasing style.  I haven't read this particular story, but it's easy to tell that this is a significant moment, and how cool that you were able to grab it!

Fabulous Silver Surfer page! It's interesting to me to notice how Allred draws the Surfer. Where Jack Kirby used thick black lines to create the illusion of chrome, Allred uses thin black lines alongside thin grey lines to create a similar impression. Same with the surfboard, which Kirby used thick black shadows and Allred uses thinner drybrush strokes alongside thin grey ones. Allred's approach creates the sense of a softer, more gentle SS, where Kirby was all about the power and the majesty of SS. That's my thought anyway,. ;-)
