DescriptionIf you grew up in the 90s and were a fighting game fanatic like me, you'll understand why this piece is an absolute dream come true. As a teenager, I always imagined crossovers between my favorite fighting game properties; Capcom eventually delivered the amazing Marvel vs. Capcom and Capcom vs. SNK series and the one-off Street Fighter X Tekken, but Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur were still left out.Enter Thony Silas, who went above and beyond the call of duty to make my dream a reality. I stumbled across his eye-catching work on Instagram - specifically his dynamic X-Men team shots - and wondered if he could do the same for my favorite female fighting game characters: - Chun-Li (Street Fighter) - Kitana (Mortal Kombat) - Psylocke (X-Men) - Mai Shiranui (Fatal Fury, King of Fighters) - Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken) - Morrigan (Darkstalkers) - Ivy Valentine (Soul Calibur) - Nakoruru (Samurai Shodown) With most of my commissions, I just give the artist a subject (character, team, etc.) and costume preference and hope for the best. But Thony kept me in the loop throughout the entire process and asked for my feedback frequently, which he then implemented. He provided two initial layouts, I gave him some feedback about character pairings, and he produced a third layout which became the basis of the final piece. He then sent me the base coloring of the final piece and I provided additional feedback about a few tiny details, which he immediately fixed. I have never had such a hands-on experience with a commission; his willingness to work with me produced a final product I couldn't be happier with! This is now my favorite piece in my original art collection thus far. Thank you for bringing my childhood dream to life, Thony! Social/Sharing |

Fighting games are haven on earth forevermore! Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter, MK, Virtua Fighter and Guilty Gear...I grew up with these warruors in utter happiness. So I have an understanding of how you felt bringing this beauty home! Congrats brother!

As someone who grew up with the Marvel/Capcom fighting series, I get the appeal of this mashup of all the fighting game ladies. And Thony's unique coloring makes this look different from any video game cover you might have seen on the shelf during this era. Congrats on the commission!

The greatest Silas pieces I've seen so far! His sharp shapes and colors define the female form with energy! This one has so many of them in an all star showdown.
