Description

Ok full disclosure: I knew nothing about this piece when I bid on it. I was aware of Sonny's Marvel work but had never heard of Silangan Klasiks and I bid on it anyway. Because it is awesome and was one of the few pieces in the last Signature session that truly caught my eye. And I won it, yay for me!

Heritage states that this is a splash and the final page of the Sida story from Silangan Klasiks #395. The back of the piece says that it's the cover for this issue. But hell if I can find a scan or any other information about it. There's a few helpful blog posts about Filipino comics of this time period but nothing about issue #395 specifically.

So my fellow art collectors I fall upon your mercy. If you know more about this book or the story this piece is from hit me up in the comments!

Very well preserved from that humid part of the world! The inks are always surperb from the Komiks tradition and a well known name like Sonny Trinidad always works it to its fantasy best.

I thought that it was in pretty decent shape as well! All the hole punches and discoloration just give it character in my eyes.

She may have been modeled after Tetchie Agbayani who was like Samantha Fox of the Philippines at that time.
