Timber Wolf Sketch Card by Fred Hembeck

Another animated Legion card! It's always neat to see how Hembeck decides to interpret non-humanoid characters in his own style, and I like what he does with Timber Wolf, here. He really leans into the more animal elements of Brin's design, with a larger, squarer head, a bulkier frame, and of course, the claws!

When Hembeck started doing these cards of Legion characters from the animated series, he did a few more than what I have collected here. Instead of trying to go for them all (and REALLY hurting my wallet), I decided I wanted to focus on the cards featuring the seven Legionnaires who, alongside Superman, were the main focus of the show's first season. And I did it! Most of my other Hembeck cards are one-off purchases I bought where I could, but having all these animated Legion cards feels a lot like owning a proper "set" or "team" of Hembeck cards!
