DescriptionI was ecstatic to pickup this double-page splash from Peter David's final Hulk issue. It wasn't until recently that I found out that David was basically forced off the book, but at least he was able to wrap up the storyline somewhat. This was also Adam Kubert's last issue, and I believe the only issue that he inked himself.Rick Jones in a wheelchair visits Bruce Banner who's lost touch with reality after Betty's death and he believes he's surrounded by friends and foes, pictured here. This scene mirrors the cover image with the exception of Banner instead of Hulk. I haven't been able to fully identify all of the characters , so let me know who I've missed. On the right side from top to bottom, apart from Bruce Banner and Rick Jones, we have The Thing (or at least his feet), man-bun Namor, Spider-Man, She-Hulk, the U-Foes (Ironclad, Vapor, X-Ray and Vector), Dr. Strange, The Leader, Captain America (or at least his shield), Iron Man and Wolverine. On the left side from top to bottom, we have the Abomination, Gargoyle (or Gremlin), Jarella, Jim Wilson, Thor and Crusher Creel/Absorbing Man. I think the gold metal character is Half-Life, but I can't recall who the cat is and I'm not sure about those other feet. The art is on two art boards taped together from the back and has some ink splotches -- I guess Adam Kubert touched it too soon before the ink dried. I was lazy and used Heritage's scan which isn't the greatest -- I'll have to rescan the art eventually. Social/Sharing |

This is great. One of the few pages that add a new perspective on how to draw a comic book page. It originality suprised me!

I've always loved this double page splash because of the degree of difficulty involved in drawing the human figure from this angle. The extreme foreshortening is incredibly difficult to pull off accurately. Congrats on the acquisition, Ted!

Oh this was such a good issue, I am amazed that Peter David somehow made it work as a one issue wrapup to everything! And Kubert killed it on the art, just as he had done on previous issues. Congrats on the acquisition!

Was watching this one! So many characters featured, getting that Adam Kubert treatment, and what a perfect decision to go with a downward perspective. We don't see that often! Congrats!
