Silver Surfer by Mark Texeira & Bob Almond: Blueline Commission

First time client John Vega joins the Almond Commission Gallery! For this one I was offered the treat of inking Tex on Silver Surfer of all characters...not one I would expect. But having started my career in the Marvel cosmic editorial office from 1992-1995 I had inked my share of Norrin Radd and starscapes, but it's always like coming home again! It's my 4th commission over Mark and my 8th Surfer commish. I took some chances in approach for this one and IMHO they paid off. I used Copic wide and regular markers and possibly some fading brush markers for a dry brush effect as well as white paint dry brush for the board's speed FX and energy blast. Possibly some China marker for a gradated crayon effect. Pentel correction pen was used for some lines, white paint spatter for the starscape and some dot zip-a-tone for the planet shadow. I'm posting 3 versions of my inks, in b&w, in blueline and unaltered blueline. This was completed February 13, 2023. Later in 2023 the client would commission color artist Bob Sharon to add his own brilliance to this work.
