Nova (Vol. 4) Issue #24 Pg. 16 (ft. Gladiator, Robbie Rider, Irani Rael, Suki)

Here we return to Nil-Rast, only pages after Gladiator decided to split a Nova Corps member in two. It seems as if he hasn't quite gotten his fill of war with the Corps.

Enter Suki, a fresh New Nova Corps recruit thrown into the Kree-Shi'ar war. Thanks Ego and Worldmind! Suki finds herself in the hands Robbie Rider, her eye in the sky on Nu-Xandar. Sadly, Robbie's only purpose is to observe the annihilation of the New Nova Corps at the hands of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. Gladiator takes notice of Suki as Robbie helplessly watches.

Yet Gladiator for some reason decides to spare Suki.

That is until Strontian enters the fray to relieve Gladiator of his post. Poor Suki!

She and cohort 86 are slaughtered for sport at the hands of Strontian.

The Nu-Xandar team also includes Irani Rael, which is sitting beside Robbie Rider. For some reason, I always seemed drawn to imagery of this special Rigellian. However, I must not be the only one.

While I was researching this page, I learned that the MCU Nova-Prime (portrayed by Glenn Close) was also named Irani Rael in the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, her name was not used in the film and was only later verified during interviews.
