Ex Machina #8 (2004) page 3: Runaway dog

Few comic books made the 9/11/2001 airplane attack on the World Trade Center so integral to their plot as Brian K. Vaughan did throughout this series. This flashback sequence occurs in late August 2001, soon after Mitchell Hundred's identity as the Great Machine has been revealed to the public. He's attending a backyard barbecue at the home of his friend Jackson, when Jackson's Doberman "Hungry" decides he'd like a taste of Hundred's arm. The dog's owners are suitably horrified.
