Description

Brownhole Jones is Steve's pirate creation and companion to Sea Goin' Lil. I don't think Steve got very far with this story.

I love this piece, mainly because the devil and angel on Brownhole's shoulders. There's a more finished version of this (see additional image). There's also an inked version (that I don't have), I think Steve sold it before I could get a good look at it. Hey... Mark has the inked version here.

I recall that, at least for this piece, Steve modelled Brownhole after himself. Steve's current scraggly look makes the resemblance uncanny.

Brownhole Jones was created by Steve Mannion.

I've loved Steve's pencil work since day one.  Great piece!  That angel in the lower left is absolutely exquisite.  Nice pickup buddy!

The angelic girl looks like she is a Renaissance statue!  The bad girl is classic Mannion!  Brownhole may look beaten and battered from wear and tear, but when taken care of, never fails to do the job.

Great piece!  I assume it's a cover?  He should finish the story and publish it IMO

It was intended to be page 1.  But unlike any kind of 1st page of a Mannion story that I can recall.  I think Steve only got as far as page 2.
